Our Mission: Is to work with the community to empower the youth with Faith, Education, Values and training that will help to overcome obstacles in life. Since Covid-19 we focus on the community as a whole. Specifically BIPOC low income communities that have lacked Equality and Inclusion far too long.
We have offered a variety of programs and services to support in and out of school programs, community service, entrepreneur skills, talent shows, we've funded field trips & given gift cards as incentive to continue when doing well in GPA's. P.O.P. has partnered with other orgs. for back to school, Outreach's & Stop The Gun Violence events, helped Tenant's catch up on rent, fed the homeless and given families in need gift cards for the holidays.
Over the past years, we have helped thousands from feeding the homeless, providing incentives to alternative high school students with gift cards. We've provided funds to Pathway High for senior class trip. Partnered with many organizations for community events, and Continue to have annual Stop the gun violence events in honor of Von Cratic (my nephew) and all gun violence victims and more. With donations through the years we've helped thousands in disproportionate areas.
The world and how we live is extremely different. P.O.P. now prioritizes the community. Specifically areas that have disproportionate education, income, housing, medical services no Diversity, Equality or Inclusion.
United Way donated 3 grants in 2020. which enabled P.O.P. to support African American restaurants Madea's and Mo p's Restaurants in Ypsilanti Mi. During the epidemic by purchasing dinners to give to first responders at St. Joes Hospital and supplying gloves to Mo Ps. We purchased PPE equipment, which we delivered and distributed in disproportionate zip codes of Ypsilanti Michigan 48197/98 door to door. We helped struggling families with assistance paying bills and rent. Also, we gave 1000's of face masks to restaurants to distribute with meals.
In 2021 Walmart donated $1000 towards our Annual Feed the homeless, Target donated $25 gift cards to raffle at the event. Meijer's donated $100 gift cards in which we surprised African American small business venders at a POP UP Christmas event given by a nonprofit Dress For Success assisting them thru these trying times of the epidemic.
We need your support to continue helping the youth and community.
Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in Chicago IL. we incorporated our organization to provide sensible solutions. P.O.P. started its actual Journey in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Michigan area working with youth We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
With the epidemic of COVID-19 controlling the world, the reality of the injustice of African Americans being killed by police came to a head for the world to acknowledge. It's time to also focus on communities, genders, neighborhoods and senior citizens that have a lack of inclusion, diversity and equality.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
